M&S have apologised for their Christmas advertisement as they have received 40 complaints about a shot of three Christmas paper hats being burnt in the fire in the colours of the Palestinian flag.
It seems they have removed the advertisement which was apparently shot in August, long before the Palestinian war started, although the version I viewed on line just seems to have removed the shot of the fireplace.
Why, oh why, oh why, do we keep pandering to these ridiculous woke complaints, firstly there were only 40 complaints which means 99.99999999999999999999999% of the population found no offence in the scene and secondly the paper hats are not even the colours of the Palestinian flag which as far as I can see it is, red, white, green and black which is nothing like the red, silver and green paper hats in the fireplace.
People nowadays seem to go out of their way to find offence in the slightest little thing and even worse find offence where there is none to be found.
I am a retired actor, although to be honest I only retired because I wasn't getting any work due to losing my agent when I became a full time carer to my mother who had dementia. and the option of becoming an unemployed actor/waiter at my age was ludicrous, especially as my waiting skills are non-existent.
Having said I’m retired, I don’t think there really is such a thing as a retired actor for I am still available for work, I just don’t have an agent or any connections with regards to obtaining any worthwhile work.
I have over the years done student films when there is nothing else available, always low paid (if at all) the only incentive was always the promised copy of the finished film for your show reel which nine times out of ten always failed to materialise.
I spent many years looking after my aged mother and shortly after her death I was lucky enough to run into an ex-girlfriend of many years ago and our romance blossomed once again, resulting in us getting married in 2013.
My move to the countryside inspired me to write The Diary of a Country Bumpkin which tells of my continuing dilemmas in dealing with the rigors of the countryside from the unexpectedly large number of pollens, fungal moulds and hay products waiting to attack the unsuspecting townie.
I enjoy writing, see my play Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori on The Wireless Theatre Company, The Plays Wot I Wrote and The Battle of Barking Creek both available on Amazon.co.uk and am very fond of classic cars so my ideal occupation would be acting in a film I had written set in the 1930s/40s, we live in hopes.
I am delighted to say that since venturing to the countryside where space is not quite the premium it is in town, I have due to the availability of two double garages acquired more classic cars to form a small collection the pride of which are a 1947 Bentley Mk VI and a 2000 Bentley Arnage.
My various blogs and websites are continually evolving and I’m sure that by following the appropriate links you will find something which will edify or amuse.
I have written a number of different books all available on Amazon, so don't be shy should you feel the urge to purchase. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Joe-Wells/e/B06XKWFQHT/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1
Oh, my. Most people have a bit of sense…unfortunately far too many delight in looking for trouble are trying to catch someone doing something that might be seen as wrong – so they can glory in the attention gained and show off their goodie-goodie virtue
Getting very tiresome.
I wish they would, but fear it will only get worse. Did you see where many bird names are going to be changed in USA and Canada?
Dozens of bird species will have their English names changed in an attempt to avoid associations with “historic bias” and exclusionary practices.
The American Ornithological Society (AOS) said the decision was being made “in an effort to address past wrongs and engage far more people in the enjoyment, protection, and study of birds”.
The organisation also plans to change the process by which English names are selected for bird species under its jurisdiction. The effort will begin in 2024 and will focus initially on 70–80 bird species that occur primarily within the US and Canada.
We seem to be breeding generation after generation who are just not equipped to cope with the rigors of normal life. I suppose they are all hoping that AI will take over and do everything for them.

It certainly is.

Please pass me the shotgun!
Is that for us to put ourselves out of our misery or in attempt to cull as many of the Woke brigade as possible before the Police arrive?
Well, I was thinking the former but now you offer the second option which seems a good way to go!
Makes sense to me!
Words of the non-expletive type fail me…………..
I know how you feel!
